Who chose the panel?
Panelists are nominated by their field and named in public, with their affiliations and funding listed beside their name. They establish the factual terrain of a question and sign off on the costs of both answers. They do not see results before publication and they do not decide what the public should conclude.
Who paid for this?
Earthbeat is a nonprofit. Funding comes from foundations and from institutional subscriptions to community-level intelligence. No funder sees a result before it is published, and no funder can commission, delay, or withdraw a question. Every funder above a disclosure threshold is listed on this page at publication.
Who answered, and how many?
Every published figure carries its sample size, its country count, and its collection window. We never write that humanity believes anything. We write what we measured, from whom, and how many — and where the reach is thin, we say so beside the number rather than in a footnote.
What did you leave out, and why?
Each question is a compression of something larger, and compression discards things. The costs shown are the ones the panel could source; costs that could not be sourced are listed as unsourced rather than dropped. Questions rejected during drafting are published with the reason they were rejected.
What do you store about me?
Your answer, the question, a coarse self-declared country if you offer one, and the referring source. No account, no cookies in the widget, no precise location, no device fingerprint, no personal identifiers. We sell community-level intelligence and never individual data.
